If we have 3 computer, and 1 computer have a function to becomes a router and the other computer as a host. This are step by step to make the network :
1. Setup IP in each computer
{ to setup IP, you can read on previous post )
2. Activate ip forward on router :
edit sysconf.ctl which locate in directory : /etc/syconf.ctl.
on "net.ipv4.ip_forward = 0", change the number from 0 to 1.
(to edit the file, we can use nano). And save the file.
3.Setup table routing on each host .
- For host1, type this command : "ip route add iphost2 via iprouter".
- For host2, type this command : "ip route add iphost1 via iprouter".
( for iphost1, iphost2, and iprouter : type IP number from each computer ).
4. Restart the service network on each computer with this command : "service network restart".
5. Then, check b by doing ping to each IP address
6. Finish, your network has been have a router
